1. Getting Started & Account Management
How do I create my Living Legacy Capsule account?
Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Open the app, tap “Sign Up,” and follow the prompts to enter your name, email, and a secure password. Once you verify your email, you are ready to start your first chapter!
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the login screen, tap “Forgot Password?” Enter the email address associated with your account, and we will send you a secure link to reset your password. If you don’t see the email within 5 minutes, please check your Spam/Junk folder.
How do I manage my profile and notifications?
Navigate to the Profile tab in the bottom menu, then tap the Settings (Gear Icon) in the top right corner. From here, you can update your bio, profile picture, change your password, and customize your push notifications.
2. Chapters & Storytelling
What is a “Chapter” and how do I create one?
Chapters are how you organize your digital storybook. They can represent a specific time period (e.g., “College Years”), an event (“Our Wedding”), or a theme (“Lessons I’ve Learned”).
- To create one: Tap the “+” (New Chapter) button on your home screen, give your chapter a title, choose a cover photo, and start writing!
What are Chapter Stats?
To help you see the impact of your stories, each chapter displays real-time stats. You can see the total number of entries, the number of active co-authors, and how many people have read the chapter.
How do I add photos, videos, or audio to a chapter?
When writing an entry inside a chapter, tap the Media (Paperclip/Camera) icon. You can upload photos, short video clips, or voice notes straight from your phone’s gallery to bring your memories to life.
3. Co-Authoring & Connections
How do I invite someone to Co-Author a chapter with me?
Interactive storytelling is at the heart of Living Legacy Capsule!
- Open the chapter you want to share.
- Tap the “Co-Authors” icon at the top of the screen.
- Tap “Invite Co-Author” and search for your connection’s username, or send them an invite link via text/email.
- Once they accept, they can add their own entries and perspectives to that specific chapter.
Can I remove a Co-Author?
Yes. Because it is your story, you have full control. Go to the chapter’s settings, view the Co-Authors list, swipe left on their name, and tap “Remove.” Their past entries will remain unless you choose to delete them, but they will no longer be able to add new content.
4. Privacy & Security
Who can see my Storybook and Chapters?
You have complete control over your privacy. You can set visibility on a chapter-by-chapter basis:
- Private: Only you can see it.
- Shared/Co-Authored: Only you and the people you specifically invite can see it.
- Public/Network: Visible to your connections on the Living Legacy Capsule network.
Who owns the rights to my stories and media?
You do. Living Legacy Capsule provides a judgment-free space for your authentic narrative, but we do not own your memories. You retain full ownership of all text, photos, and media you upload.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption to ensure that your memories, private chapters, and personal data are kept completely secure and protected from unauthorized access.
5. Technical Troubleshooting
The app is freezing, crashing, or running slowly.
Please try the following quick fixes:
- Check the App Store or Google Play Store to ensure you have the latest version of the app installed.
- Force-close the app and reopen it.
- Check your Wi-Fi or cellular data connection.
- Restart your device.

My photo or video won’t upload.
Ensure your file is a supported format (JPEG, PNG, MP4) and does not exceed the maximum file size limit (50MB per file). Also, ensure you have granted the app permission to access your phone’s photo gallery in your device settings.
How do I delete my account?
We’d hate to see you go, but you can delete your account by going to Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account. Warning: This action is permanent and will permanently erase your digital storybook, chapters, and media. We recommend exporting your data before deleting your account.
